row 9

  • dc (sc) into the first st and then make a ch – this forms the first st of the row, move the stitch marker up into the top of this st
  • skip the next st and do a tr (dc) into the following st, then do a tr (dc) into the st you skipped – the tr (dc) will wrap around the previous tr (dc). Repeat this step another 20 times
  • make a tr (dc) into the last st, and move the stitch marker up into the top of this st
  • change to Colour B
  • turn
  • {44 sts}

row 10

  • make 1 ch (this is the turning chain and does not count as a st)
  • make a dc (sc) into each st across, and move the stitch marker up into the top of the first and last st
  • change to Colour A
  • turn
  • {44 sts}

row 11

  • make 1 ch (this is the turning chain and does not count as a st)
  • make a htr (hdc) into each st across, and move the stitch marker up into the top of the first and last st
  • turn
  • {44 sts}

fasten off

  • cut the yarn, leaving at least a 20cm (7.9in) tail
  • pull the cut end through the active loop to secure your crocheting
  • using the cut end, tie a knot around the last active loop

weave in the ends

For both the start and finish ends:

  • lie your wrap with the “sideways v’s” of the half treble (half double crochet) stitches facing down (the wrong side is facing up)
  • using your fingers, weave the end through different loops, trying to make it as invisible and uniform as possible
  • tie a knot after the last stitch (to keep it from unravelling)
  • trim off the end at the knot
  • give it a bit of a jiggle and check it sits okay

tell me what you think
