How To Finish Those Projects You Start But Never Get Around to Finishing

Do you have unfinished objects or projects (otherwise known as UFOs) in a stash somewhere?  Projects that you start but never seem to get around to finishing?

I have had my fair share of UFOs – knitted scarfs, cross stitch projects, crochet vests.  I still have some.  One day I’ll finish them.  Sound familiar?  Meanwhile, I’m starting and finishing other projects.

At present my crochet hook is busy making something big.  So big that it’s testing my resolve to finish it.  But I’m going to finish it.  Do you want to know what I’m doing to make sure I finish it?

I feel how amazing it’s going to be once it’s finished.

I see myself using it, how it will look in my home. How it’s going to make me smile when I see it, how my family is going to love it!

This always motivates me to keep making, and gives me the drive to keep going.

You don’t need to finish everything you start.

Sometimes I just can’t find the joy in finishing a project. No matter how much I try I just can’t imagine how good it’s going to be when it’s done.

Falling out of love with projects is okay. It happens, and I like to think that there’s a bigger reason why. Maybe someone else is meant to finish it, or maybe I’m moving onto bigger and better things.

It always feels good to let go of things that no longer bring you joy!

With love, Lynda.

Hi! I’m Lynda (she/her) and I’m the lady behind Homelea Lass.

I’m here to help you improve your crochet skills and to help you find peace and happiness in your creative time.

In 2012 I was knocked down by debilitating chronic fatigue that put an end to my blossoming career as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager.

Early on in my illness, I discovered that I could crochet without draining my energy, so I spent my days crocheting, researching yarns and designing – this is how Homelea Lass was born.

My experience with chronic illness has guided me to combine my passion for exceptional design and crochet. I’ve developed a way of crocheting that’s enjoyable, easy to understand, and maximises it’s relaxing and wellbeing properties.

As my healing journey has progressed, Homelea Lass has grown, and I feel blessed that I can share my love of Australian merino wool, chunky crochet and creativity with you.
