It’s starting to feel like Christmas in the Homelea Lass studio!

I have a cup of tea and festive treats beside me as I’m writing, and while I finished making the 2025 Advent Kits I had Christmas songs playing. It’s that special kind of calm that comes around at Christmas.

I thought I’d do a quick blog post with all the different Christmas things that are happening, as well as some changes with the Yarn Store over summer.

2025 advent crochet pattern, kits and crochet-a-long

The 2025 Advent Crochet Kits are absolutely delightful! They’re that lovely that I made an extra kit for myself because I didn’t want to miss out on all the crochet-a-long fun!

The pre-ordered kits are starting to be delivered, and there are a couple of extras available if you’d like one too.

Did you know that you can join in with the Advent crochet-a-long by ordering the pattern or the kit? It’s a relaxed, go-at-your-own-pace event that starts on 1st December and will stretch into January. If you haven’t already, join the free crochet group to be part of the crochet-a-long fun.

crafty secret santa

Crafty Secret Santa is happening again this year in the Crochet Lounge!

It’s all about the joy of putting together a crafty Christmas present and then receiving one in return. I love knowing that there’s a crafty gift for me waiting under the tree – it’s one of my favourite presents to open on Christmas Day.

Registrations have now closed, but join the Crochet Lounge now so you don’t miss out next year.

yarn store changes over summer

So I can manage my chronic fatigue, I’ll be heading to Melbourne soon to escape the heat of the western Queensland summer. As much as I’d love to take all the Yarn Store goodies with me, it’s just not possible.

To avoid disappointment, it’s best to order your Christmas presents and summer crocheting projects over the next couple of weeks.

Happy crocheting!

With love, Lynda.

Lynda | Homelea Lass

Hi! I’m Lynda (she/her) and I’m the lady behind Homelea Lass.

I’m here to help you improve your crochet skills and to help you find peace and happiness in your creative time.

In 2012 I was knocked down by debilitating chronic fatigue that put an end to my blossoming career as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager.

Early on in my illness, I discovered that I could crochet without draining my energy, so I spent my days crocheting, researching yarns and designing – this is how Homelea Lass was born.

My experience with chronic illness has guided me to combine my passion for exceptional design and crochet. I’ve developed a way of crocheting that’s enjoyable, easy to understand, and maximises it’s relaxing and wellbeing properties.

As my healing journey has progressed, Homelea Lass has grown, and I feel blessed that I can share my love of Australian merino wool, chunky crochet and creativity with you.
