Natural, sustainable and biodegradable, the Homelea Lass yarns are a joy to crochet and knit with. They’re quality yarns that feel soft and warm and can be used everyday.
These merino wool yarns are certified Australian made. They’re fully grown and made in Australia without taking a trip overseas - using them means supporting Australian farmers and makers with every stitch.
There are 3 different yarn sizes available:
- Homelea Happy, the 10ply / worsted weight yarn, is slightly thick and thin and a textural treat to create blankets, scarfs and garments with.
- The twist in Homelea Bliss super chunky means that what you make will be used for many years. It will keep its good looks for a long time, and it won’t cover your home, or you, in fluff. Use it to quickly crochet blankets and scarfs that your family will love snuggling in.
- Homelea Hug is an extreme yarn that’s perfect for arm knitting and crocheting.

What yarn sizes are available?
The Homelea Lass yarns range from 10ply through to jumbo size.
- Homelea Happy is a 10ply or worsted weight yarn that is slightly larger than 8ply or DK weight yarns.
- Homelea Bliss is a super chunky yarn that is about 1cm or 0.4in thick. It is too thick to have a ply size.
- Homelea Hug is a jumbo or extreme yarn that is about 2.5cm or 1in thick.

What fibre are the Homelea Lass yarns made from?
All the Homelea Lass yarns are 100% merino wool. The fibre is grown by merino sheep within Australia and it is processed in Australia.
We love that the Homelea Lass yarns connect us to the Australian landscape with every stitch. You’ll discover some grass within the merino wool, which is a special link back to what the sheep was eating while growing this amazing fibre for us to crochet and knit with.

Are the yarns certified Australian made?
Yes, all the Homelea Lass yarns are certified Australian Made and are licensed to display the Australian Made logo. View the certification.
The Homelea Lass yarns far exceed the minimum requirement of the Australian Made certification because not only is the fibre substantially transformed within Australia, the fibre is grown in Australia and all its processing happens within Australia, with no offshore processing. Both Homelea Happy and Homelea Bliss are suited to crocheting blankets and scarves, and which yarn is best depends on your personal preferences.
- Homelea Bliss: is quick to crochet with and highlights the beautiful texture of crocheted stitches.
- Homelea Happy: creates a thinner, cooler fabric with less defined stitches.

Homelea Hug is ideally suited to arm crocheting and arm knitting because of how thick it is. Its big stitches are easy to see, and it creates statement blankets and throws that are admired by everyone.
