Bright Star Crochet Kit
This kit includes everything you need to make a Bright Star and 2 smaller Chunky Stars. Customise it below:
Grab a cuppa and sparkle while crocheting stars with soft merino wool. It’s a lovely way to nourish your soul and make something beautiful for your home.
This kit makes 1 larger Bright Star and 2 smaller Chunky Stars. These gorgeous stars can be used for many different things, at Christmas and throughout the year. Maybe you’ll use the kit to decorate your Christmas table, hang the Bright Star on your front door, on the walls of your hallway or to decorate the nursery?
About the design:
With some crochet patterns, the design comes to life in what feels like an instant and it must be released straight away. With others, it comes to life slowly and it needs time before being released.
The Bright Star crochet pattern is the second type. I came up with the design last year when I was putting together the Chunky Stars pattern. I made a prototype and some hasty scribbles on a piece of paper and that was it.
The prototype hung on the hallway of my Geelong apartment for most of the year. I absolutely loved it, but it didn’t feel like it was the right time to bring the pattern to life. Now that the new Daisy Yellow Homelea Bliss has arrived, Bright Star is ready to go out into the world!
Intermediate skill level:
This kit is includes patterns that use different types of stitches and I recommend it if you’ve done some crocheting before, and am comfortable following instructions where the stitches used are changing a lot. The smaller chunky stars are easier than the larger bright star to make.
Easy-to-follow video tutorials:
This kit includes 2 a full crochet patterns and online courses (with right and left handed videos) that takes you step by step through crocheting stars. It’s like I’m sitting beside you, showing you what to do.
In this kit:
- 15.75mm (Q) ergonomic crochet hook (optional)
- 300g skein of Homelea Bliss merino wool yarn (makes 1 larger bright star and 2 smaller chunky stars)
- Bright Star and Chunky Stars crochet patterns and the online courses with easy to follow video tutorials
- 1 stitch marker
You’ll also need:
- tape measure or ruler
Make more bright stars:
Each Bright Star uses about 200g of Homelea Bliss super chunky yarn, and each Chunky Star using about 50g of Homelea Bliss super chunky yarn. You’re able to make more of them with the 300g skeins and 100g mini skeins of Homelea Bliss.
Made by hand in Australia:
I make all of the Homelea Lass kits by hand in the Homelea Lass studio. It’s located on a remote cattle property near Quilpie in south west Queensland, Australia. I use Australian made components whenever possible.
I know you’re going to love crocheting these gorgeous stars, and you’ll love receiving this kit!
With love, Lynda.

Where is the kit made?
This kit is made by hand in our studio in South West Queensland.
I use Australian made products whenever possible. The following items in this kit are made in Australia:
- premium merino wool yarn which is fully grown and processed in Australia (no offshore processing)
- labels, pattern and flyers
- Homelea Bliss colour sample
The other items in this kit are selected because they are high quality and can be used for a long time.
What is the yarn made from? What size is it?
Homelea Bliss is a premium Australian merino wool yarn which is fully grown and processed in Australia (no offshore processing). It is uniquely made to last – it won’t leave fluff everywhere, and it will look good after many uses.
Our yarns are as natural as possible which means you may find some vegetable matter in your wool. This is easily removed and is a beautiful connection between the sheep that grew the wool and the finished product.
Homelea Bliss merino wool yarn is a super chunky or super bulky yarn that is 1cm (0.4in) thick. Larger yarns like Homelea Bliss do not have a ply size.
What terminology is the crochet pattern in?
The included crochet pattern is written in UK and US crochet terminology, and the video uses UK terminology (with how to do each stitch explained in detail).
A crochet chart is included in the online crochet pattern.
The pattern is able to be viewed online, or downloaded and printed.
What are the care instructions?
