“Made in 2022” is the #fiberuarychallenge prompt for day 4 and last year I designed, made and released the pattern and online course for the Striped Bliss Blanket. #chunkycrochet

It’s a variation of my Bliss Blanket design, and I love that by simply changing the colour of every 4th row it gives the blanket a whole new feel. It feels fun and vibrant with different coloured stripes, and classic and classy when the stripes are all the same colour.

I could almost claim getting Pinkie through her puppy year as “made in 2022” too - it was a bit of a wild ride! 😂 #bichonlover

“Go red” is the day 3 prompt for #fiberuarycha

“Go red” is the day 3 prompt for #fiberuarychallenge and red isn’t a colour I use a lot of. Pink (red’s close cousin) is though! 💐🎀💕

This is a small Calm Chevron Blanket I finished on New Year’s Eve using light pink, dark pink and dark green Organic Cotton. It was for Pinkie’s first birthday and she loves snuggling up on it.

Here’s a fun fact: Pinkie got her name because she was wearing a pink collar when we went to meet her for the first time. 🐶💝

The day 2 prompt for #fiberuarychallenge2023 is “project 2023” which is an interesting one. 😊

I don’t have a project that’s going to go all year long, but I have set myself the goal of making lots of lovely things using the yarns in my stash.

I’ve already started doing this during the shawl-a-long I’m running at present, and this is one of them - it’s a Pamela collar by Rebecca Velasquez @revelcrochet made with Organic Cotton by @lainesdunord - it’s my favourite cotton yarn.

Pamela is looking pretty while waiting to be blocked, and after checking the size I’m going to make another one in a single colour.

My other goal for 2023 is that if I do go yarn shopping, I’m buying yarns that are fully made from natural fibres - no acrylics, synthetics, superwash and anything else that won’t end up degrading at the end of it’s life. I’m wanting to minimise my impact on the world, and small changes like this make a difference.

Phew, that was a lot of words for a prompt that made me go “what”? 😊 I’m looking forward to seeing your #fiberuarychallenge photos!

Hello it’s me (and Pinkie) for the first day of #fiberuarychallenge2023! 🧶💛

This photo was from a year ago when Pinkie was about 12 weeks old and we were in Geelong. Now you’ll find us on a remote cattle property near Quilpie in south-west Queensland, Australia.

I love crocheting and a spot of knitting, natural fibre yarns and I’m a big Grey’s Anatomy fan (I’m looking forward to binge watching the current season).
